Book sellers on the Rhone

Wandering around booksellers beside the River Rhone in Lyon (France) has a timeless quality. Somehow the vendors and their customers are anything but bland.

Originally photographed in colour, for me a black and white version told a better story. In processing paid attention to darkening the foreground elements.
